Liana + David | Vintage Villas Hotel and Events Center | Austin, Texas
We ended up photographing Liana and Dave after one of the most interesting referrals we have ever had. You see, Liana and Dave live in Florida. They have no family in Austin. In fact, they have never even BEEN to Austin. So how in the world did they decide to get married here? Well, Liana wrote down a list of cities she had always wanted to visit and for lack of a better term, “threw a dart at the dartboard” and Austin came out on top!
We may be biased, but we feel luck did her well, and her background in the wedding industry helped her to put together a top notch wedding that was full of fun and surprises. Her first excellent decision was to choose Vintage Villas on Lake Travis for her venue. Boasting stunning lake views and luxurious reception areas, Vintage Villas has been at the top of our list of favorite venues for quite some time. Add to that their amazing staff (we love you guys!), and you have a recipe for success.
Dave, his groomsmen, and the most sharply dressed father we’ve yet come across all got ready upstairs. Jokes and smiles were in steady supply, and the groom seemed eager to meet his bride! Meanwhile, Liana was downstairs, having her hair and makeup done to perfection by Flair Austin, while her bridesmaids took care of the last minute necessities.
The ceremony time quickly came, and the guests (who had flown in from all over America) assembled in front of a beautiful sunset. Dave and his groomsmen took their place and soon after, Liana made her entrance. A playful exchange of vows was followed by their pronouncement as husband and wife and cheers came from the audience!
The reception was an event that would have made any party planner envious. Flowers were provided by Blooms by the Box, and a wonderful buffet of Vintage Villas finest foods was laid out. Essen Entertainment provided the music and MC services, and the party was on!
Every person at the wedding was on the dance floor, young and old. A pause in the action came when it was toast time, and both friends and family provided touching toasts to the new couple. Liana and Dave then cut their cake, which was only a part of the tasty selection of treats made for the newlyweds by Sweet Treets Bakery.
Sweet tooth’s satisfied everyone headed back to the dance floor to party the night away. We were worried that the 50/50 split of Yankee and Red Sox fans could turn into a wedding day rivalry, but everyone kept their cool and nothing but love could be found.
Liana and Dave are that rare couple that makes everyone around them have a great time. We couldn’t be happier that Liana’s dart landed on Austin, and we are so grateful that they chose us for such a special day!
Congrats Liana and Dave!
