Anna + Achala | St. Austin Catholic Church + Palm Door | Austin, Texas

What happens when you take three states, two families from opposite ends of the globe, and one couple with love for fun? You get one of the best celebrations of marriage you could imagine!

We were fortunate to photograph Anna and Achala’s engagement session last year, and had so much fun we have eagerly anticipated their wedding ever since. These two did not disappoint us either as they delivered on a day full of love, laughter, and fun.

The day started off with Achala and his groomsmen getting ready at Hilton Garden Inn, sharing laughs and old stories, while Anna and her attendants prepared at the venue, St. Austin’s in Austin, TX. Julia from Luca Salon styled the bride’s hair to perfection while W3ll People finished the look with classic and elegant makeup.

When the time finally arrived, neither Anna nor Achala showed any visible nerves as it was clear they were eager to be married. The ceremony itself was quite simply lovely, with St. Austin’s being the perfect spot for these two to say I do. Family and friends rejoiced as the couple were presented as man and wife, and it was off to the reception.

While the guest headed to Palm Door for the reception, the bridal party took a brief limo trip around Austin. The group was able to share laughs (and maybe a drink or two) and cheer on the new couple before heading to the reception for their grand introduction. The Palm Door was styled exquisitely with gorgeous flowers by Donna from Central Market, giving just the right atmosphere for the newlyweds.

Jorge of Top Choice DJ introduced the wedding party before bringing the couple on to the dance floor for their first dance, followed by the father/daughter and mother/son dances. Shortly after, it was time to feed the hungry crowd, with an amazing array of food being provided by Pink Avocado. Finally, Anna and Achala cut their cake, which was a scrumptious delicacy courtesy of Casey at Central Market.

Finally, the couple was treated to three of the most entertaining speeches these photographers have ever seen, and one slideshow created by Anna’s brothers that had the crowd in stitches! At this point it was time to get down! Jorge got the tunes cranked up and people from Sri Lanka to Idaho and everywhere in between hit the dance floor and made the night memorable.

All in all we feel so lucky to have been chosen by Anna and Achala to participate in their special day. This fun loving couple is always smiling, and have a special way of making you feel welcome. Their wedding lived up to all of our expectations and then some and we cannot say thank you enough. Best wishes to this lovely couple!

Kelsey + Trey | Easy Tiger | Austin, TX

What do you get when you combine a bread bakery, a bar, ping pong tables, a river, and one of the most playful couples you will ever encounter? Why you get Kelsey and Trey's wedding of course!

Kelsey and Trey have the distinct honor of being the first couple ever to marry at Easy Tiger on Austin's historic 6th Street. If you've never been, Easy Tiger is a fantastic mix of homemade bread upstairs, a bar downstairs, and ping pong tables outside. It could not have been a more perfect venue for this couple either!

While Trey prepped at Easy Tiger, Kelsey got ready with family at the legendary Driskill Hotel. Neither showed even an ounce of nerves as both were more than ready to tie the knot! So, Kelsey made the short walk to Easy Tiger to her awaiting groom.

The ceremony itself was energetic, yet sweet and intimate. The couple had the crowd perform a "warming of the rings" ceremony (where the rings are passed amongst the guests) prior to saying their I do's.

Having been formally introduced as husband and wife, the newlyweds scrapped a first dance in exchange for a first game of ping pong, which the groom won despite a rousing comeback by Kelsey. They then surprised their guests by holding an open challenge to any pair of guests who wanted to take them on. The highlight of the matches easily had to be Grandma and Grandpa schooling the young couple on how ping pong is played!

The rest of the afternoon was a laid back party filled with ping pong, giant Jenga games, and a confetti filled exit that downtown Austin will not soon forget :)

Trey and Kelsey were such gracious hosts, and were so much fun to photograph. We know they are at the beginning of a long and happy marriage and we wish them all the best.

Congrats Trey and Kelsey!
