Jane and Rob are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and easily one of the most adorable. We first met them prior to their move from New York to Austin, and were immediately infatuated with their infectious smiles and joyful personalities. We knew we had to be their wedding photographers!
Fast forward to November 9, 2013 and we are arriving at Vista West Ranch, a truly stunning venue just outside of Austin. With amazing views, a rustic feel, and an amazing array of old cars, cottages, and other props, Vista West Ranch is a photographers dream. We arrived a bit earlier than scheduled and met with the wedding coordinator, Jaime of Coordinate This, who did a phenomenal job of keeping everything organized. Helping to make Vista West Ranch look its best, and helping guests to figure out where all the festivities were, were custom signs made by Jodi Guzman.
Jane began to get ready in the bridal suite just above the main reception hall with her bridesmaids in tow. Her hair and makeup were provided by good friend Nora Barak, who made certain her friend looked her absolute best.
Meanwhile, Rob and his groomsmen got ready in the bunkhouse. Everyone was in a great mood, and relaxed to an amazing assortment of beer. A few beers and a few games of bean bag toss later and it was time to get married!
The day had begun with clouds in the sky, however by the time the ceremony was ready to start the sky had cleared and it was a beautiful scene for a wedding. Petal Pushers provided a gorgeous array of flowers throughout the venue, and bright petals lined the aisle to the altar. The bridal party walked to the altar while being serenaded by the acoustic sounds of Ricky Stein. What followed was a lovely ceremony that brought a smile to everyone’s face, and possibly even a few tears.
The party was then on, and Jane and Rob clearly invited a crowd that knew how to party! A remarkably delicious dinner provided by Pascal’s Catering was followed by a great night of fun. The groom’s father kicked off the dancing, and almost everyone else in attendance soon joined in. The action was paused briefly for the toasts, including memorable and touching toasts from the best man, maid of honor, and family members. This was followed by one of the more touching moments we have had the pleasure of witnessing when Jane and her family lit candles in honor of her mother, who unfortunately had passed away only two short weeks before the wedding. The tribute was beautiful to see, and few dry eyes remained in the room. Jane’s mother has to be proud of her amazing daughter and her wonderful son-in-law, and we feel blessed to have been asked to be a part of it.
The rest of the night was more good times! Custom drinks and Rob’s home brew flowed while a dessert bar by Coco Paloma Desserts kept everyone’s sweet tooth satisfied. Complete Music kept the dance floor rockin’, and for those who needed a break from the dance floor, a fire was lit outside for marshmallows and S’mores. We have heard rumors that the after-party lasted long after we left, however we prefer to let some of the fun stay with the couple and their friends
Thank you Jane and Rob!
